Artemisia II Plectrum
Artemisia II Plectrum
Queen Artemisia of Caria, who ruled during the early 5th century BCE, is renowned for her role in the Greco-Persian Wars, specifically for her alliance with Xerxes I, the Persian king. As the ruler of Halicarnassus, Artemisia provided crucial naval support during the Persian invasion of Greece, most notably at the Battle of Salamis in 480 BCE. Despite her being a woman in a male-dominated era, Artemisia earned Xerxes' respect and admiration for her strategic acumen and valor in combat. Her counsel was often sought by Xerxes, and her actions during the battle, where she reportedly sank her own ally's ship to evade capture and trick the Greeks, showcased her cunning and decisive leadership. Artemisia's legacy endures as a testament to her extraordinary capabilities as a female warrior and tactician in ancient history. In other words, she was one badass lady.

As soon as this pick came out of the package, I was blown away by the feel. It was a little lighter than I expected for stainless steel, but it feels great in the hand, and those holes give a surprising amount of grip. I had tried a brass pick from another manufacturer, and while I liked it, it was billed as a jazz iii sized pick but was mich closer to a jazz xl; the Artemsia II is a true jazz iii sized pick. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied, and will be looking to add more Purple Plectrums to my collection.
I simply cannot put down my Artemisia II. This is the most superior Jazz III sized pick that I have ever played. The feel is unbelievable, the look is high class and the sound is just wonderful. Acoustic or electric, flat or round wound, no matter what you play, this pick will sound amazing. This is a fantastic addition to anyone's Purple Plectrum collection!
